Real no. 40., calendar no. 215. : the Laurens Delegation, to whom was referred the petition of G.W. Sullivan, and others, members of the "Soldiers' Board of Relief," for Laurens district, praying that they may be empowered to levy an extraordinary assessment on the state taxes for said district, sufficient to refund to the members of the Board the sum of one thousand dollars, expended by them out of their private funds, for the relief of soldiers' families, beg leave to report : that they have duly considered the same, and recommend that the prayer of the petitioners be granted, and they ask leave, therefore, to report by bill : Wm. Power, chairman of delegation : in the House of Representatives, December 12, 1862.--read the bill the first time : a bill to authorize the "Soldiers' Board of Relief," for Laurens district, to levy an extraordinary assessment on the state taxes of said district.
