Monochrome conversion from digital file and printed on A2 AWIJP bamboo paper . (From photographer's notes) . "Built on Monhegan Island by John Sterling ca 1808 as the 'cistern house '. In the 1920's it became known as 'Uncle Henrys ' after Henry Shaw who moved there to sell milk and vegetables . The original structure was gutted by fire in 1978 and rebuilt as in the photo in 1982.
